System
Acryllith® Flexis a tactile guidance system made of plates with ribs and studs for blind and visually impaired people.
The system enables barrier-free orientation even in places where conventional concrete floor indicators cannot be installed, such as on manhole covers, bridges, thin asphalt, or on wooden, aluminum, or steel structures.
The flexible guide plates permanently adapt to the ground and cannot become a tripping hazard.
The system is economically superior to installation, suitable for retrofitting as well as for new construction.
Material
The tactile guidance system with floor indicators consists of an aqueous polymer with mineral fillers. A flexible polymer concrete – emission-free, solvent-free + ecologically pure + sustainable. The material is highly durable – weather-resistant – sustainable – long-lasting + recyclable. Movements of the substrate caused by frost and heat are absorbed. Acryllith® Flex is free of solvents, harmful substances, and emissions. Acryllith® Flex is flame-retardant – certified according to DIN EN ISO 6239-1:2010 in conjunction with DIN 13501-1:2018. Acryllith® Flex meets the criteria for class Bfl-s1.
Adhesive
The REC 2K adhesive is a permanent solution for bonding both outdoors and indoors. The adhesive is solvent-free, contains no toxic components, has no odor, and is environmentally safe. The aqueous acrylate binds hydraulically with a small amount of cement and can be applied on damp surfaces. The weather dependency for installation is low; it can even be applied in light rain.
Cold plastic from the marking area is also suitable for bonding.
Acryllith® Flex is also available with double-sided adhesive tape
For smooth floors indoors and, to some extent, outdoors, the adhesive tape is the simplest, fastest, and most cost-effective installation method. The floor surface is prepared with industrial cleaner and then simply bonded with the plate. Due to the high adhesive strength, Acryllith® Flex plates with double-sided adhesive are only supplied in lengths of 60 cm. Once a plate is placed, it cannot be repositioned.

Installation
With large formats, installation is optimized, joints are reduced, and the appearance is also improved.
The bonding becomes slip-resistant after just a few minutes, although full curing takes longer.
The bonded surface can be walked on shortly after installation.
For quick adhesive application, REC offers a notched trowel
The adhesive can be applied at temperatures from around 10°C up to over 30°C.
The fast installation helps to avoid many costs.
Acryllith® Flex can be installed during ongoing operations, and the tactile
plates are walkable
after a short time.
This quick installation reduces additional costs and causes minimal disruption
to public traffic.
Overlaying
Renewal of outdated tactile guiding strips. By overlaying older guiding strips that are damaged or have outdated profiles, fully functional guiding strips can easily be restored. After simple cleaning, a smooth surface is created using the REC 2K adhesive, and the new plates are applied
